My Story

As a Black woman in America, I experienced the struggle of styling my hair on a daily basis. I have had every hairstyle available to us: countless perms, jeri curls, braids, plats, sew-ins, wigs, crochet, etc.. Being a Loose Natural was the most difficult, yet it was when my hair was happiest.  I always loved locs, but I was intimidated by it being such a "permanent" style. I wasn't quite ready for the commitment.

In 2019, my son convinced me to take the leap. I started with two strand twists. My Loctician was knowledgable and helped me choosing my parting pattern and the size locs I wanted. She even gave me a style. I fell in love with my hair that day. It wasn't always love though. I went through the difficult phase when my hair was transitioning and going through the locking process. I wore a lot of hats and scarves during those days. Time passed and I began to see that the loc life made my hair the happiest. I grew. I moisturized and oiled it, and it grew. My routine began to become second nature. I embraced my new life and my hair became a source of pride for me. My niece and nephew had a t-shirt business and I commissioned them to make me some loc-inspired styles to show the world my Loc Pride. This connection grew into the business you see today.

I believe that everyone should be able to show their pride in their locs. We are able to customize shirts and head wraps for you or your family members with Locs. Let the world know you Loc'd It Up!
